He expressed these views while talking to a Chinese delegation led by Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Yao Jin here on Monday. The Advisor further said that Punjab was keen to benefit from the Chinese experience on economic growth.
He assured the delegation that Punjab will be a center and a hub of the Chinese investment while the provincial government will play its role of a bridge between the Chinese and local investors.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the province while the delegation was also briefed about the government priorities. On the Orange Line Metro Train, Dr Shah told the delegation that the work was complete; the government wants to make it profitable venture in order to avoid any future hurdles during its operation.
"A comprehensive transportation plan was being chalked out for the Lahore district. The demand for development was changing as industrialization is required under the CPEC," he added.
The Advisor said that Punjab made a long-term planning for the Punjab's economic growth. For promoting investment, Special Economic Zones (SEZs) were being established. He pointed out that the Chinese investors will be given a special representation and space in Allama Iqbal Apparel Park.
"The government is also establishing an authority for the promotion of public-private-partnership. Equal opportunities to all investors will make the SEZs successful," he added. On the occasion, the Ambassador assured the Advisor of their full support to Punjab.
